Summer is in full swing; what better way to remember your fun summer adventures than by making a journal you can draw and record all of your memories?
This journal can also be made into many other things: a diary, a scrapbook to hold photographs or even a nature journal to store dried flowers and leaves.
Materials
• 2 to 6 paper lunch sacks/bags
• Scissors, glue
• Assorted colored papers
• Colored pencils, crayons or markers
• Hole punch
• Assorted Rubber stamps and inks (optional)
• Sequins, buttons, photos, stickers (optional)
• Raffia, ribbon or yarn
• Rubber band
• Stick, popsicle stick, pen, or pencil to hold book together
Steps
• Decide how you would like your paper sacks to face (remember the folded bottoms can be used as flaps for secret compartments)
• Punch two holes on one of the short sides of the stack of bags
• Put a rubber band loop through one hole in the stack, from back to front. Push other side of rubber band through second hole of stack, from back to front.
• Pass popsicle stick, through both rubber band loops.
• Draw or trace, color and cut out pieces of paper to decorate front and inside of book
• Optional: you can also use rubber stamps and inks or sequins, buttons, stickers and photos to decorate your journal
• Tie raffia, ribbon or yarn around popsicle stick
• Write title on cover and author on back of journal
