Keep Your Children Warm!
Zoolights, Peacock Lane, the Grotto. These outdoor activities can be fabulous excursions; just be prepared and dress appropriately.
Dress in layers. Avoid overdressing. Too much bulk impedes movement, especially for little ones.
Take frequent breaks and stay hydrated. At the zoo, duck inside the primate area or the aquarium tunnel. Bathrooms are nicely heated - pop in to warm up each time you pass one.
When you get home, get the kids out of wet clothes immediately and warm their core body temperatures with a blanket or warm fluids like hot cider or soup. » Read more
