Local Designs from Cat in an Apron

Readers of Jess Says know how much we love to find great unique and often handmade items from local designers and crafters. Which is why we adore Cat in an Apron (www.catinanapron.com), which shares our love of the beautifully original, and sells it all in one place!

The Cat in an Apron shop sells whimsically envisioned, uniquely crafted clothing, gift and accessories for Portland life with little ones. The spirit and determination behind Cat in an Apron is inspired by Dan Greenburg’s poem “Don’t Dress your Cat in an Apron” from Free to Be You and Me book and album first printed in 1972. According to the website, this poem perfectly declares the shop’s philosophy that “A person should wear what he wants to and not just what other folks say.”

This month, we’re pleased to showcase some original ideas for costume season—and beyond—from some neat local lines available at Cat in an Apron.
